One extended journey circling the Australian Coast has been cancelled days after the death of an senior lady who was abandoned by the vessel on a distant tropical isle.

Suzanne Rees had been trekking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the excursion for a rest. The vessel left without her and went back later that day after the ship staff discovered the lady was not present.

An extensive rescue mission located her remains the next day.

"At some stage in that process, or shortly after, mum died, by herself."

Company Position

Via official communication, the CEO verified that the operator was "working closely with authorities to assist their inquiry".

He said that the firm was "extremely apologetic that this has happened" and had provided its full support to the family.
